At age fourteen, Faber’s dad bought him a drum kit which Faber promised to practice on every day. “Coming from a family of seven kids, this was a huge deal,” he remembers, “seeing as how my dad could barely even afford to feed us.” Faber may not have kept his promise, but that’s because he put down the drum sticks to become frontman and founding member of Faber Drive, one of Canada’s hottest young bands. After beating out more than 500 other artists from across Canada to take first place in a radio competition, Faber Drive started opening for notable acts such as Nickelback, Simple Plan and Hedley. With the release of their pop-punk infused debut album Seven Second Surgery, Faber Drive hit 1 on Much Music, saw 3 top 10 radio singles and was nominated for the Juno award for Best New Artist in 2008.

ETeen: Guys, how was record a song with Pierre Bouvier?

Faber Drive: We feel so honored to have Pierre Bouvier singing on our new single, ‘Too Little Too Late!’ .When we were writing for the album Lost in Paradise we had the opportunity to write two songs with Pierre and Chuck from Simple Plan, and ‘Too Little Too Late’ is one of them. Over the years we’ve become fairly good friends with those guys through touring and playing shows together and it was nice to be able to collaborate on this level.

ETeen: “Lost In Paradise” é o ultimo album de vocês, certo? Qual música vocês mais gostam?

ETeen: “Lost In Paradise” is your lastest álbum, right? Which song of it do you like most?

Faber Drive: A personal favorite of the band from Lost in Paradise is the song ‘Lost In Paradise.’ When we were writing the song, we wanted to create something new. We wanted to take the signature Faber Drive power ballad sound and put a modern spin on it. We feel we hit the nail on the head and created something powerful and different.

ETeen: Por que vocês lançaram a Deluxe Edition no iTunes? O que tem de novo?

ETeen: Why did you release the Deluxe Edition on iTunes? What’s new?

Faber Drive: ITunes really is the new way to purchase music. CD sales are not as big in North America anymore, so we try to give some extra content to iTunes exclusively as a bonus for people who buy the album that way. On the deluxe edition you get two songs that aren’t available on the CD, plus an acoustic version of Candy Store with a video.

ETeen: Do you intend to release a new EP or maybe a new álbum this year?

Faber Drive: We’ve already started to write our next album, although I doubt it will be out this year. We still plan on doing some more touring for Lost In Paradise, so I imagine we’ll get into the studio sometime during the winter to begin the recording process.

ETeen: Onde vocês gravaram o clipe de “Life Is Waiting”? Como foi para vocês?

ETeen: Where did you record the videoclip “Life Is Waiting”? How it was for you?

Faber Drive: Gravamos o video para “Life Is Waiting” no deserto do norte de LA.

Faber Drive: We recorded the video for ‘Life Is Waiting’ in the desert north of LA. Living in the city that’s known as Hollywood North, (Vancouver, BC) we have always filmed our videos at home in Canada. It was always a goal of ours to go to LA and record a video in the year round sunshine! It was amazing to achieve that goal and we love the way the video turned out!

ETeen: What do you guys think about brazilian fans?

Faber Drive: We love all our fans! We really appreciate the hard work some people have been doing to try and make our music known in Brazil, and we’re hoping that we will continue to reach more people down there. There is a girl on Twitter who has been tirelessly promoting Faber Drive in Brazil for about 5 years and we appreciate her hard work more than she knows!

ETeen: Where was the strangest concert that you ever played?

Faber Drive: One of the strangest concerts we played was in Dauphin, Manitoba in Canada. It’s a super small town north of Brandon, Manitoba. We showed up super late to the airport for our flight there and when we landed in Winnipeg, none of our guitars or anything showed up. We didn’t have time to wait, so we just went there and hoped for the best! We borrowed guitars, amps and drums from the opening band and managed to still put on an unforgettable show!

ETeen: If each member of the band could have a superpower, what would it be?

Faber Drive: If Faber Drive had super powers, Faber would be able to fly, JP would be stronger than Superman, Krikit would be able to turn invisible and Seamus would have….X Ray vision.

ETeen: If you want to, you can leave a message for the brazilian fans and everybody that is knowing you right now.

Faber Drive: Thanks to all our fans in Brazil who have been supporting Faber Drive for years, and thanks to all our future fans who are just learning who we are! One of our goals as a band is to tour the world, and we hope that we can come visit you soon!
